This PRS was made in 1991 when Paul used to still be very involved and the company was much smaller - it was expensive - and still is - it's got the short neck bit at the back and makes for very easy playing

The PRS that is shown below was made for Tony as a special order in 1990. The guitar at that time had a cost of $US5595.00 and there was no change given....

The guitar features a 10 top, birds inlays and the now defunct sweet switch ( see the photo ) and Tony tells us that he particularly likes this sound over the one when the switch is out. He spoke to Paul Reed Smith in 98 about why the switch was dropped and Smiths official answer was " We now use different pickups - we have a conversion kit that you can fit to get rid of the switch once and for all ". Tony then explained that he preferred the switch to the current tone pot, but Smith repeated " We do have a conversion kit that we can sell you now to get rid of the switch " - Tony did not continue the discussion because it seemed that Smith did not want to particularly listen.

This guitar has been featured throughout the years in Tony's music. Checkout "Never Going Back" on our Real Audio sound pages on this web - this is really an awesome sounding guitar. This instrument is also heavily featured throughout the "Guitar Lab" album - you will know it when you hear it !
