All of these guitars are very rare indeed with only around 103
ever made (and likely only 103 ever to be made). These instruments are nearly
always based on Les Paul Standards virtually without exception. We have only
ever seen these two in the UK and one other recently in 2004 at a Local Guitar
Shop. We purchased these two (#14 and #70) while in the
USA and it's a great thing to own a guitar like this - a real piece of Gibson
history and one that can only accumulate in value over the years.
They actually sound great too - but it is
very rare indeed when these come out of the box - usually just for photo
sessions
Thanks to the tie dye guy (wherever he is today)
and of course he has permission to collect our latest shots of the tie dye
guitars we own (the #70 has better pic's than on his site - it looks like he
took a photo when it was in the USA while it was on a wall somewhere?) - let me
know if you know ANY history about the two we own. I do have some info but it's
better if you tell me..... and confirm what we already know....
Here are a few of our favorite Tie
Dye Gibson's - they just don't make them like these anymore - pity
the finish crazes so easily....
