BE AWARE THAT THIS IS A 95-98 WINDOWS PROGRAMME YOU CAN MAKE IT WORK, BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT PROGRAM EMULATION IN XP! Quick Start When you first start the Mesa/Boogie Triaxis Preset Editor, it comes up in default Rhythm Green mode. 1. First select you midi in device by clicking ‘Midi Input’ and choosing one from the resulting drop down menu. Then do the same for ‘Midi Output’. What? Your device isn’t listed? Reinstall your midi drivers for the midi card that you own. 2. Plug in a midi cord from your midi cards ‘Out’ to the Triaxis ‘In’. 3. Plug a cord from the midi cards ‘In’ to the Triaxis ‘Out’. 4. Enable ‘Send Program Change’ from the ‘Options’ menu. 5. Choose your midi channel number on the ‘Options’, ‘Channel’ menu. 6. You should now see the Triaxis changing programs every time you move the program slider. We recommend you turn off ‘Software Thru’ in the ‘Options’ menu with this setup, or a midi loop may occur. Backing up your presets After Doing the Quick Start previously: 1. Press the ‘Receive’ button or just hit ‘Alt-R’. A box should appear telling you to press buttons on you Triaxis. 2. After you followed the instructions on the screen, and a delay of a couple seconds, the presets should now be in the Editor and the ‘Status’ box should indicate successful transfer. Check to see all your presets are in the Editor, and give them a name if you want by typing in the green box just above the ‘Status’ box. 3. Save these presets to a file by choosing ‘File’ ‘Save File’ and type in a file name. You have done this kind of thing before. Sending presets to the Triaxis 1. Just press the ‘Send’ button or ‘Alt-S’. The Triaxis is always set to receive. You should see ‘2746 bytes sent to Triaxis’ in the Status Box if it was successful and an error message if unsuccessful. 2. If it didn’t work, try setting up your midi devices again and make sure the proper device is chosen in the ‘Midi Output’ menu. Editing Presets The Editor itself performs almost entirely just like another Triaxis. Which, by the way, you could also use to backup presets. To change a Preset simply dial it in with the slider, or click on the mode or Loop/switch light with the mouse. To save the changes you just made to the preset, click the ‘Enter’ key twice. To save the changes to another preset, click the ‘Enter’ key, find the destination preset with the ‘Preset’ slider, and click ‘Enter’ again. The ‘Status’ box usually contains information relative to the situation, keep an eye inside this box when learning to use the Mesa Boogie Triaxis Preset Editor. Editing Continuous Controllers 1. First Press the ‘Controller’ button or press ‘Alt-N’ on the computer keyboard. 2. Whatever preset you were currently on in the main page is now the same preset in the controller editor. 3. The ‘From’ row of numbers is the ‘Base’ preset (see the Triaxis Manual that came with you Triaxis to learn more about continuous controllers). 4. The ‘To’ row is what you want to happen when you ‘Gas’ the controller pedal. 5. Adjust the ‘From’ row first, probably in the main page itself. 6. Next Adjust the ‘To’ row of sliders. 7. If you click ‘Send Presets’, the Editor will automagically save the changes and send all of the presets to the Triaxis (It wont save them to disk, however). 8. Clicking ‘Edit Controller #s’ brings up yet another page where you can do just that, change the Controller ‘Number’ for any parameter. Papa Smurf would be proud. 9. Now that you have setup an amount of change (this is calculated by the computer) and adjusted the ‘Controller Numbers’ accordingly, you can test it with the ‘Test Pedal’ button. 10. First, ‘Send Presets’ to the Triaxis (it needs to know about the changes you just made). 11. Second put the Triaxis on the same preset if it’s not already by pressing ‘Prog Send’ or manually on the Triaxis itself. 12. Thirdly click ‘Test Pedal’ and slide the ‘Controller’ to the number you want to control. 13. Finally use the ‘Value’ slider to send a stream of CC data! The Triaxis should respond by modifying the preset by the ‘From’ and ‘To’ fields you recently edited. 14. You can use the Preset Up/Down buttons to easily change instead of going back to the main page.
